Considering it is objective based k/d means very little, contributing to the win however means everything.

Very true, often you die to become more useful. Everytime I rank high as a necro I end up with something like 7/40, but as a human I end up with something like 35/6. Its defiantly not something I'd play with randoms tho, I tried and they keep just trying to do their own thing or trying to up their kill score.

Still haven't bothered with multiplayer yet, but there is a tangible difference in latter levels on higher difficulties. They really push you to use kinesis at times :O

Extraction is a bit of a chore so I don't think I'll bother with it. I really don't like on-rails shooters.

Extraction is a fun go. It provides with some cool histroy with the series. And with the DLC Dead Space: Severed coming out soon people won't know who the heck they are playing as.

Spoiler:
You play as Gabe Weller searching for Lexine in/on the Sprawl.

Dead Space is much better than Dead Space 2.....story, characters, settings, whole atmosphere is better in DS1...sure DS2 has better graphics and improve gameplay but I like Ishimura more than Sprawl. On the other hand I like Isaac more in DS2 because he finally has VA :)

DS1 9/10
DS2 8/10

In my opinion the Dead Space series has done what Resident Evil did but just did it faster and also in only two games (someone give them a medal). First Dead Space was a great game and I had a hunch that they could challenge Resident Evil for the top survival horror franchise that all changed with Dead Space 2. Dead Space 2 (In my opinion) is one of the most predictable games I have ever played. They tone down the creepiness and tension for straight up action and gore. Now for me at least it seems that Dead Space has gone from a horror game to a straight up action game and instead of challenging Resident Evil it seems they want to challenge Gears of War and there crown. Good job Viscreal Games, take the template of Resident Evil and just speed up the process...Cheers!

Different strokes I suppose. I didn't find the first one creepy or tense by any means, but the second one hit all the right buttons for me. Isaac is also a very likable protagonist (unlike the automaton he was in the first game).

Besides, can't dislike a character who stomps on enemies and call them mother*lover*

You’re right on the fact that Isaac is now a likeable character but I'm not just talking about one part of a game I'm talking about the games as a whole. Within 10 to 15 minutes of playing Dead Space 2 I could pinpoint exactly where the necromorph would come from and some of the new ones were welcome addition except for one, the Stalker those things really over stayed their welcome at first it was cool having a enemy with a different attack pattern but when you know you are going to face them just by the layout of the room it really takes away from the tension and also when they attack you three times in a row it really gets frustrating. Also the ending was a mixed bag for me, on the one hand I did like the ending but leading up to the end I just hated every minute of it. When I first saw the marker in the game I just wanted to look at it and just marvel on how big it was but no what does the game do they throw more enemies at me and this beings what I would like to call (I don't if you ever watch wrestling) a gauntlet match. From here on out you enter a room or small area and they throw in a Hunter-type (It keeps regenerating) form the first one that had no build up or anything mixed in with some neromorphs. In each area you kill the number of neromorphs will keeping the Ubermorph at bay and rinse and repeat until the very end. Which in a way the ending kind of redeemed itself. Dead Space 2 is by no means a terrible game just a disappointing one and yes I can see why a lot of people like it. A horror game with action elements will get well sized fan base but a action game with some horror elements and also add in some multiplayer will there you got yourself a hit. EA and Vescerial games know this and I don't blame them for doing what they did its smart business. Overall all I'm glad that you enjoyed the game and in some parts of it I did too but now I'm not really looking forward to Dead Space 3 as much as I did for Dead Space 2.
