Okay, just one thing I was confused about the entire movie. Where the hell did they get the Plagas from? Did I miss that, or was the implication that they got it from the black market and cultivated it?

It was a great movie, loved the characterization, but also felt there was much be to be desired still.

Just a note, feel free to discuss the movie but lets avoid discussing ada's final scene as it pertains to RE6 spoilers and we have a ban on that until 6's release.

So any questions you have about that scene please refrain from asking here until 6 releases.

Honestly, I don't think that final scene will have anything to do with Resident Evil 6, unless you're just assuming the person she was talking to is who I think you're assuming it was.

As far as how Las Plagas were obtained, Ada seems to imply that she was the one who provided at least two dominant species plagas and several subordinate species plagas to the resistance army. However, I'm not entirely certain this is the case, as it is discovered later in the movie that the president of the Eastern Slav Republic has been harvesting and cultivating Las Plagas on a massive scale. Leon suspects that she was the one who released the plagas into the wild, which she neither confirms nor denies.

JD, one of the resistance members, says they were given the plagas by their "elders," and we find out towards the end of the movie that the president has been making some backroom deals with the elders, so she may very well have been the one who provided the plagas to the resistance movement after all.

We never find out how or from where she got the plagas in the first place, though, but it was probably the black market.

Also, entirely random note, but when Leon and Ada first meet, Ada asks Leon when they're going to pick up where they left off "that night," which I'm hoping for my own sanity was just a reference to the events of either Resident Evil 2 or 4, but I'm sure the 'shippers will take it another way entirely.

I suspected maybe Ada provided them at first, but the comment about them being inferior when she first met Leon, and then retrieving a sample in the end seems to imply it wasn't her. Why bother to take something if you already have a supply of it? (or considering defunct for that matter)

Not unless the president had them specifically altered, and then a particular sample of theirs was considered valuable enough to take...


Edit: Okay, so the Republic is cultivating dominant members of the species. Why would Ada need to obtain this, if the organization is supposed to have a dominant plaga already? Not unless that one was taken from them and sold off somehow, and by who?

I stand by my comment about not commenting on that scene because of re6 spoilers. Explaining "why" would involve explaining why its a spoiler and thus make it very obvious when its currently very vague and no one not spoiled is likely to pick up on it unless its pointed out.

If you have further questions as to "why", feel free to pm me and discuss it. I'm no mod and my word is not law. But I just think we should be respectful to others and wait before discussing it.

Damnation is Damnation and RE6 is RE6. Feel free to talk about the ending, but within spoiler tags mentioning the RE6 connection.

Please, please use spoilers for the Ada-RE:6 connection for me. Even if it may not have anything to do with it, I didn't watch the ending due to the possibility (as advised), yet want to see some of my questions answered in the discussion. Thanks. :)

One thing I will say is - I was really worried about Courtney Taylor voicing Ada over Sally Cahill, I never heard enough of her in ORC to make a proper judgement, but After watching Damnation I am now at ease. I would have thought it was Sally if I had not known otherwise. YAY!!!!!

I felt the opposite. Especially early in damnation. She sounds waaaaay different in the first half but gets better in the second half. She's still no sally but certainly does a good job as new Ada either way. I don't mind her at all. But I would never confuse her for sally.
