A decade or so after the incident in Raccoon City. In order to stop further acts of bioterrorism, the President of the United States decides to reveal the "truth about the Raccoon incident". On the day of the presentation - a large scale bioterrorist attack occurrs in the assembly hall. Then, Leon S. Kennedy who attaned the presentation as a witness for the Raccoon incident and as a friend to the President was forced to confront the President, whose appearance had completely changed. Around the same time, Captain Chris Redfield of the anti-bioterrorism organization "BSAA" arrives in China, which was exposed to a level of bioterrorism previously unthinkable. The situation is hopeless as numerous bioterrorist attacks occur worldwide - Is there any means of escape from this worst-case scenario?

As you can see, no game is free from the bastardization of the stooges in CAPCOM's localization department.

1) 「ジュアヴォ」J'avo wasn't hard to figure out. If you look at the trailer, there's a computer display of several reports with the title "Juavo". In Spanish, the J sounds like H. Huevo is the Spanish word for "Egg" (or slang for testicles), which fits the whole spider theme with the webbed logo.

2) The police officer zombie which attacks Leon has "POLICIA", Spanish for Police, written on his back.

3) There is a STAGLA gas station in Tall Oaks.

4) The terrorist group in China appear to be wearing Chinese opera masks.

5) Mystery Man arrives in China before Chris, as a sign is still up in Mystery Man's scenario but down in Chris's.

6) Chris is infected. Hence the "wounded" line which does not appear at all in the English trailer because CAPCOM's localization department sucks.

7) You can also see members of the terrorist group injecting themselves with the new virus/eggs.

8) Some of the terrorists are disfigured under their masks: they have more than two eyes.

I thought it would be good uploading the direct feed version of the trailer here. The compressed YouTube version somehow washes out the visuals. Game looks beautiful in an HDTV.

1. What was Veltro's motivation to attack Terragrigia? One cutscene said they were against its construction, which would be ridiculous and just plain evil. How can they be against alternative energy resources? That's like hating kittens. A file in the game says that they found the city to be "decadent" and that they wanted to open people's eyes. So did they want the same thing as Lansdale (make people aware of bioterrorism) or just attacked the city because they didn't like it?
Terragrigia was chosen because it was a "big" and significant target. I don't think there was a specific reason. Veltro wanted to be noticed.

2. Who was responsible for the Valkoinen Mökki outbreak? Was it some leftover Veltro members that were not on the Queen Dido or was that part of O'Brian's plan? If the former, then why did they wait for one year before they attempted another attack? If the latter, then where did O'Brian get the B.O.W. resources?
This one I don't have a clue about. Could be a bit of both.

3. Who blew up the tugboat? We are led to believe it was Raymond, but what are his motives? I figure he could have wanted the BSAA to keep investigating and to uncover the Lansdale conspiracy, just to put the FBC out of the picture. Because if he was just there for the T-Abyss virus, he could have had it easier if he just let Jill and Parker escape (unless he had to report to O'Brian constantly).
Raymond blew up the tugboat. He was working with O'Brian and kept Parker and Jill on the ship so that they would discover the truth behind Terragrigia (by finding the "secret of the Zenobia") and expose Lansdale.

4. Was the video with Norman at the end of episode 3 a live broadcast or a rerun? He seemed pretty healthy and completely different from his episode 12 persona (not vengeful but just generally threatening the world). Also, how was the broadcast even possible, no matter who did it?
I'm sure the BSAA would remember if it was a rerun. Pretty sure it came from the sunken Queen Dido. Somehow.

5. Who destroys the emergency communication system? See 3. for a possible explanation.
Raymond destroys both. They're recent and he happens to be close to them.

6. Was Rachel a spy on Raymond's and Jessica's side? She didn't seem very well prepared.
FBC agent, had no idea what was really going on.

7. Keith and Quint are musing about Veltro looking for their own ships. How'd they lose them in the first place? See 2. for a possible explanation.
Lansdale and the research team he organized "seized" the ships from Veltro after the Terragrigia Panic.

8. Why did the two (or possibly three) ships have laboratories for the FBC's virus research if they were constructed as mere cruise liners in the seventies?
"Paraguas Line" (Umbrella Line) renovated them in the 80s and most likely added the laboratories. Lansdale used them because they were good cover.

9. The game made it seem like Lansdale provided Veltro with the ships only shortly before the Terragrigia Panic. How was that even possible? He doesn't own them or anything.
They were set to be junked in 2003/4, but disappeared.

10. How did Lansdale find out about Jill's and Parker's investigation?
I assumed Jessica.

11. How was the self-destruct system of the Queen Semiramis activated? Or was its sinking the work of Lansdale and his satellite (the lab cutscene suddenly shows a satellite image of the half-sunken Queen Semiramis although Jill said earlier that the image was the Queen Zenobia)?
Jessica activated it when she was on it with Chris. Only real explanation. The satellite image showed what was presumably the Zenobia (it wasn't sinking), but it turned out to be the Semiramis.

12. Why was the Queen Zenobia undetected for so long? When did it drop off the radars? How did O'Brian find it? How did Lansdale find out about it, along with Valkoinen Mökki?
...Yeah, none of this was explained. Raymond is like "rur rur why did the Zenobia go undetected?" but nothing was actually stated.

13. Why did Veltro vanish after Terragrigia? Well, this was obviously answered with them being stuck on the Queen Dido, but again: question 2.
Veltro was a small group of only a few dozen men at best. A small number (the ones at the airport) probably survived, and were uncoordinated. The rest went down on the Queen Dido.

14. Why did Lansdale set off the satellite to destroy the Queen Zenobia? He might be aware that there's evidence on the ship against him, but again: question 12.
To destroy the evidence.

15. If Veltro used the ships at operations bases, then why were there still passengers and crew members on board once the outbreak occurred? How did some of them survive for almost a year (the Queen Dido situation was a bit different, after all)?

The people on the Queen Zenobia were all Lansdale's men after Terragrigia.

16. How did water get into the bilge of the Queen Zenobia?

...Never explained.

17. Why did the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium cooperate with the FBC's researchers?

Lansdale's research was officially supposed to help prevent bioterrorism (by... developing a virus) somehow. There's also the fact that the GPC is probably another god damn organization that wants viruses (promoting development of t-Abyss, then getting Raymond and Jessica to retrieve it).

18. A researcher says they seized the Queen Zenobia after the Terragrigia Panic to carry out further research and to develop a T-Abyss vaccine. So basically, it was researchers -> Veltro -> researchers?

Veltro -> researchers. No idea what happened before they were given to Veltro.

19. Why was Lansdale keen on having a T-Abyss vaccine developed?

Probably the same reason as Downing in DEGENERATION: viruses aren't that much of a product without a vaccine. Also most likely to prevent further incidents involving it.

20. Why did Lansdale lock up the researchers after the vaccine was completed? If he knew where the ship was, then why didn't he just destroy it immediately along with all the evidence? If he wanted the vaccine, then why didn't he send anyone to retrieve it?

He locked them up as they were considered evidence. Why he didn't destroy the ships... no idea. Never explained.

21. How and why the hell did Parker go to the bilge after he was shot?

Ship was sinking, maybe he had to find another route or some shit?

22. Why did Norman inject himself twice (once in the video message, once before the final battle)? One injection wouldn't have sufficed?

Injected himself once in the video (which was presumably shortly before Chris and Jill arrived), ingested more of it in the hall. We don't know much about him or why his transformation was so special.

23. Did the first injection and the video message happen shortly after the Terragrigia Panic? The game implies that Veltro survived in the Queen Dido due to the virus combined with their lust for revenge, which apparently prevented mutations (...).

There are zero dates in the game at all, so... fuck knows?

Fun fact: it seems Jessica and Raymond are really working for the "organization" (the one Ada belongs to), as was originally implied heavily by Raymond's profile on the official site. Jessica says "組織も 思ったよりあっさりと モルガンを切るなんて" in the Japanese version of the epilogue. Only the Italian version translated this with "organization", all other dubs go with "company".

I want this to be true. But Vester's profile (and Rachael's) was referring to the FBC. Parker and Jessica were the exact same. "organization" doesn't automatically mean the "Organization" which Ada works for. It's a very, very general term. It might very well turn out to be the case, but at this moment there's no way of telling. Maybe " Jessica's Report " will give a few more hints?

-What is up with Raymond? He is apparently a triple agent working for Lansdale, O'brian and with Jessica for the organization all at once. That's fine. But, the problem is then, why did Jessica shoot him, why did he fake his death, why did he tell parker Jessica was the mole and that she was trying to activate the self destruct etc? It doesn't make a lot of sense.

If Jessica and Raymond have the same goals and are working together, there was no reason for Jessica to shoot him in the first place. The scene heavily implies she shoots him to save her cover and prevent him from spilling the beans about Lansdale. This obviously starts to blow her cover by doing so.

Raymond then telling parker that Jessica is the mole, faking his death only to come back and then blow jessica's cover and tell parker about the self destruct activation etc. only further complicate things.

If they're both working towards the same goal and together, it makes no sense they'd constantly screw each other over and make things more difficult.

Raymond is the one who exposed her as the mole which keith and quint had discovered and whatnot. So it's understandable that he might have tried to keep his own cover by blowing hers since hers was up already. But, that doesn't explain why she shoots him during his veltro gig.

Part of the act. As retarded as it is, that is the only real explanation.

We will most likely have to rely on supplemental material to fully understand the plot of Revelations. That is the case with most of the games in the series.

I've said this for a while now, the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium ARE the "organization" that Ada was working for. I was toying with the idea of this being the case since BH2. The GPC as a whole is used as a front by all these pharmaceutical companies to get away with the things that they do, and if any singular company makes a mistake (in the case of Umbrella), they can simply step in, disassociate themselves from that company and in turn, absolve themselves of any wrongdoing.

Besides, they essentially operate the BSAA. An interesting setup - any biohazards that occur as a result of their machinations, they can send in their own officially sanctioned clean-up team to bring everything under control and make themselves look like the good guys in the process. That's all the BSAA are, just pawns used by the GPC to clean up the mess that they make.

It's also a means for the corporations to shift power and authority away from the U.S. government, away from states and governments and more towards the private sector. Essentially, mass privatisation.

I mean, perhaps that was the intention of the GPC all along - to get rid of the FBC, who answered to the U.S. government and not themselves. Corporations seeking to remove authority from centralised governments and towards themselves. The BSAA are essentially a form of private military for these corporations. I mean, they answer to the GPC. So Jessica and Raymond were used by the GPC to orchestrate the downfall of the FBC, in turn using the BSAA to expose them.

IGN recently had an interview with Resident Evil 6's Producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi. He talks about the development of the game and their attempts to bring various different types of horror together rather than focusing on just one. He also confirms that the game will feature both Action and Survival based sections as well that the Co-Op portions of the game are going to try something new.

Lastly, he also hints that Leon & Chris may not be the only returning characters from the series and that "There are a lot of characters still to be announced." in the coming months.

You can check out the full interview here.

Nice of you to think I wasn't being supportive of Biohaze, haha. Biohaze and PU have always had a great working relationship, I wouldn't be posting on here if I DIDN'T support Biohaze. I was actually making an unrelated point about how popularity doesn't necessarily mean that something is good, e.g. Call of Duty. Biohaze deserves the popularity in this case, a lot of hard work has gone into this site. It deserves the productive members of the community but not the mutants, and unfortunately we've seen a lot of them here.

I have my own theory - the more popular something becomes, the greater the chance of attracting mutants. I'd much rather come here than Capcom-Unity. A vile and elitist perspective, I know. But who would you rather talk with, an intelligent and thoughtful fan who shares your passion for the series, or some fanboy murping on about how Jill's tits look so awesome?

This whole thing is pretty confusing. Why is "Family" capitalized? It makes me think of The Godfather, so it invokes thoughts of mobs and the mafia or something. Not really RE-ish whatsoever, but a Family could also mean another group. That's pretty much a given because we know bioterrorist attacks have been happening. RC is surely Raccoon City. God this is confusing.
Yeah, "Family" is obviously code for some group or orginization, likely involved with the Raccoon City incident. I doubt it has any connection to the mob lol.

It's all in Capcom's hands. They could port it to the Vita, or make a new game altogether. If they merely port Revelations, for someone like me with a 3DS, I'll have no incentive to buy a Vita. However, if it's a new RE game well..that's a different story.

Still waiting for some convincing points, because those are beyond negligible.
Posted: Mar 02, 2012 20:43

I dont think this is news so I will just post this here, IGN has an article with the producer of Revelations here:

http://ds.ign.com/articles/121/1219750p1.html

Basically he is happy with the reaction Revelations is getting and it makes him want to make another RE for 3DS.

"The incredibly positive fan reaction to Revelations has definitely given me motivation to make another 3DS RE title," Kawata told us in an interview. "I have some ideas in mind. However, I have a lot of other projects that need to be taken care of first."

That might seem like any potential and future Resident Evil projects would be a ways off, right? Not so fast, survival horror fans...

"I must admit," Kawata continued, "Hearing players say how much they enjoyed Revelations does kind of make me want to forget the other projects and get stuck right into making another RE game for fans to enjoy (laughs)."

This means absolutely nothing but at least Capcom is pleased with the reaction. This can only mean good things for RE on 3DS. I would love for more RE games like this, with an even more focus on old school elements. And of course with a bigger and better Raid mode.
