All I know is that I do not want to see Jill or Leon anytime soon.

Leon has been seen in enough games already. And Jill was just in RE5, regardless of whether she was a background character or not. Not to mention, Revelations features Jill. If you really think about it, Jill would probably not go anywhere without Chris if they were to ever embark on future endeavors. I want characters to come back because it actually means something to the plot or story arc, and not because of rampant fanboyism. It's bad enough Leon and Jill have turned into typical fan service characters, moreso in Jill's case.

I don't object to Claire being the main hero. But the problem is, what would be her angle? Why would she be in the next RE? For the most part, Chris is safe and has taken down his Nemesis. Sherry would be the only unexplored avenue capcom could take. I don't know. But I'd be down for Claire to be the main hero since she's probably the best actual character the series has ever come up with. Either Claire or someone entirely new who is actually compelling. But given how the RE fanbase likes to cling to the older characters like glue, I don't think a new character will get the appropriate welcome.

Sorry to tell you this, but that is one of the most ridiculous and close minded things I've ever read about Sheva. Sheva is fine. In many ways, she just a black version of Jill, and she's younger and better looking. Don't see the real hate for her. So why do you obsess over Jill but expect to shove Sheva out of the volcano? Without Sheva. Jill wouldn't have been rescued, nor would Chris have been able to take on Wesker.

So over campy dialogue and nostalgia you give Jill a free pass? What a shock. Either way, Sheva had to save Jill's ass, and helped defeat the main series villain. I think that counts for something. If you refuse to acknowledge that, then there is no point in talking with you, or this topic.

There is no point in really continuing this. People will continue to believe whatever they want and ignore logic put before them. And they turn around and say other people have "no hope." This is no different than the people who theorize possible "what ifs" had Sheva stayed behind and Jill had gone with Chris for chapter six. But fail to realize the full extent of the circumstances. This discussion is akin to running full speed into a brick wall... with spike jutting out of them.

You guys are all wack. It doesn't matter what skin color you are. Hot is hot, period.

But I do agree Chris is more awesome than Sheva and Jill combined. In a non sexual way of course.

Nowhere did I say RE4 was a "bad" game or that it wasn't something that wasn't going to be remembered down the road. In fact, I even mentioned that it WILL be remembered in the future for being the game that supposedly saved the series. In many ways it did. All I'm saying that it wasn't fun for me. And by the way, saying RE4 is more of an RE game than RE5 is not really much of a compelling statement. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that statement is flat out wrong. The only thing that RE4 had going for it was atmosphere. And even then it was pretty one dimensional. It put on this masquerade that it was trying to be a horror game, but at the same time you were shooting anything that moves like any other shooter to date. Not to mention a lot of RE4's mechanics were borrowed from other games. The aiming mechanics were borrowed from Splinter Cell. A 2001 Xbox game that handled its control scheme far more smoothly than RE4 does.

RE5 at least makes no qualms about the game it is trying to be. Even despite cosmetic differences, characters like Chris and Jill are still the same people they have been throughout the series. Unlike Leon who has turned in Neo from the Matrix. Also, having an obscure lab secretly conducting experiments on thousands of people is very much indicative of what RE and Umbrella have been about. Not to mention, Lickers alone are far more recognizable than anything in RE4. If you took Leon and Ada out of the game and added two different characters, and changed the name of the game, you would never be able to tell it was an RE game.

I should also note that RE4's premise is indeed much sillier than the rest of the series. Granted, other games might be just as silly, but RE4 takes it to a new extreme. It was like a combination of James Bond and Austin Powers. I mean, Salazar even says "Meeester Kennedy" for god's sake. And world domination through parasites? Really? At least Steve had other more "real" issues besides being a whiny kid, and Alfred being insanely murderous and over protective of his sister made him unique (he's similar to Chief Irons if you think about it). I will admit Marcus was a bit ludicrous though.

However, I think as someone else said, nostalgia might be clouding some people's judgement. That and RE5 being the successor also makes people look at RE4 more fondly. I remember just a few short years ago many people (not pointing at anyone here) were claiming RE4 to be the devil and would be the reason the series is dead. Because for the longest time, I thought most people disliked RE4 Leon because of his terrible one liners because that wasn't conducive to making a good survival horror character.

And me being burned out on RE4 is kind of a moot point because I can still replay REmake, RE3, RE2, and the rest of the classics even having played them very frequently for a much longer period of time. The problem with RE4 is that it has no real depth to it. It is what it is. Just a third person shooter with clumsy controls. Its weird because even though game with superior playabilty than RE5 (Dead Space and Gears of War for instance) have been around, I can still enjoy RE5 by myself or with a partner. I suppose at the end of the day it is a matter of opinion. I get a headache playing RE4 for more than 20 minutes. With RE5, I still enjoy going through the campaign as Chris and playing as Jill in general. I won't continue to argue which game is better since it is pretty pointless. I'll just say I far prefer RE5 to RE4.

I played the game today and I noticed many changes. The versus ran really smoothly for me. My shots seemed to register better. I also noticed that the partner AI was better than it was before. They were actually helping me and didn't get stuck on stuff. Overall, I'm liking the patch and I hope they continue to fix the game.

I'm interested in Helena. She'll probably be my main for Leon's campaign anyway. Seeing as how everyone and their momma will want to be Leon. She has shown the most emotion of the series. And honestly, I don't mind serious stories if they are well done in the series. RE5's tone was fairly serious. But it had a few characters that were silly that was a throw back to older games.

I approve of Helena so far. In fact, I'm liking all the new characters so far.

I may be the only one, but Chris and Piers were the only good characters in RE6. I mean Sherry was awesome and Ada had her moments, but I don't think any characters actually grew in RE6 outside of these two. Leon was almost un-necessary, Helena was pretty boring as she was solely motivated on revenge, and Jake is a pretty generic character.

I always thought Chris had more personality than people gave him credit for, but after RE6, I think he's one of the strongest characters in the series now.

I am starting to believe that Chris' campaign is probably the best campaign in the game. Not only does his campaign make the best use of the controls, but it has the fewest button prompts and cheap deaths. We seem to get the most gameplay for our buck in this campaign. I find Jake's campaign incredibly annoying with the amount of wiggling and button prompts it contains. Leon's would have been okay, but it has some really dreadful sequences that takes control out of your hands. Also, chapter 3 was awful and it seems more over the top towards the end than Chris' campaign.

I'm replaying Chris' and using certain skills and it is making the experience much better. Plus, the music is awesome for the most part and fighting J'avos are more fun than mindless zombies.

Snow is one of the worst things ever created. I hate snow with a passion.

Snow is only fun when you are a kid. I remember the blizzard of 96. I had several days off from school so I was okay with it. Now, its not as fun. Its more of a hassle and inconvenience.
