Shut up heathens. This is holy ground. Sonic has died, Sonic has risen, Sonic will come again. Amen

Well, I obviously didn't literally mean we were wrong for liking those games  My favorite games of all time are on the Genesis and PS1 mainly, with few being from the last gen spread across all 3 (well, just one on the Xbox). I haven't played anything this gen that left similar impressions, but that's a whole other discussion (been brought up here before). It irks me to no end when some people refer to classics as being "unplayable"; stuff like MGS, RE1 or even the Sonic games.

Also, I'm not hung up on visuals at all, but that's the main aspect that gets compared, be it among multiplatform or exclusive games. Been like that since Genesis/SNES days, and I've been picky since then, even though I stopped caring 8 years ago. Aside from a handful of truly bad ports, I do think it's gotten ridiculous that you'd need 500X zooms and an analyzer to figure out what's better. Lots of other little nagging angles including input lag, which existed even when sprite-based games were running at 60Hz. Anyway...

I'm 30 and I was primarily a fan of arcade games, particularly fighters so I'm from a generation where we had to deal with poor console ports regardless of the system.

Lastly, "more love" didn't necessarily anything relating to business relations, just a preference to working on the 360. Even EA's DICE, who lead on the PS3, prefer the 360. R* did try giving Sony a timed exclusivity deal with GTAIV after all (and Kutaragi's late response sabotaged it)

^ I really hope the Ico + SotC collection gets announced soon. I want to play it, and if I go buy both of them on PS2 from Ebay for $100 each, then the collection is announced I'll be really pissed. They need to hurry up and announce it.
Shadow of the Colossus (PlayStation 2, 2005)
New from:$14.99
Used from:$9.99

Regardless though, I want the collection as well. As Godly as SOTC was, it was held back immensely by the PS2 hardware. Frame rate felt like a slide show, I almost thought my system was biting the dust when I first booted it up. It would benefit from a PS3make so much, especially to see the game rendering at a higher resolution.

I'm glad Chael Sonnen has been granted a rematch for January. Hopefully he'll come good this time!

Old news, but, KOF2002 UM coming to XBLA Nov. 3rd. - 800 MS points.

http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/game/xbla/english/lineup/kof2002um.php

Only people really missing from that roster are Chizuru, Saiyshu, Eiji, Orochi and the USA Sports team. (K'9999 as well but Nameless takes care of that). Which, all things considered, isn't really bad at all. Pretty much everyone in KOF up to 2002 is in it otherwise. Music's all redone too supposedly. Definitely looks a lot better than the original 2002 release which i disliked almost entirely for aesthetic reasons. So, looks pretty solid so far.

R4 (Ridge Racer Type 4) is hitting PSN next month. Won't mind a digital copy of that gem and I certainly wouldn't mind Rage Racer either.

Such a shame that the series is turning into a NFS clone, done by a low key Euro developer no less.

God though, R4 had such a great soundtrack and for its time, great graphics and feel to boot:

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/02/yu-suzuki-i-think-segas-going-to-let-me-make-shenmue-3/

During his GDC 2011 panel, Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki said "I think Sega will let me make it," referring to the long-awaited Shenmue 3. However, it's not a guarantee. He couched the discussion by saying it's contingent on budget issues -- by the way, Suzuki said that Shenmue cost $47 million to make, not the patently ridiculous $70 million Sega quoted -- and that he basically could only be sure that 200 people (the people in the room) would buy it.

I can't get a hold of Yama so can anyone reach him to update Shenmue Dojo with this news?
