General question in regards to SCV: If I were a big fan of SC1, would I be interested in it? The great netcode has me intrigued.
Outside of it's newly introduced nuances, the game feels at home for the most part. If you enjoyed either SC or SCII, I'd say give it an honest shot. The net code is generally good too, haven't had too many issues with it. Definitely the smoothest 3D fighter I've played. If you do get it, make sure to snatch a 360 copy so we can play.

By the way tomorrow night I'm headed to Winter Brawl. It's been a while since I've been in the tourney scene, but I'm going to be competing in SCV. The game is generally fresh yet and I'm not too sure of the match ups, so it can go either way at this point. Regardless I'm going to take it for a learning experience. Getting seeded for EVO would be a bonus but is not a necessity to compete (planning on going and staying with Detrimantix), so I'm going to take it as a learning experience. Win/Win really. Still excited though, better to do it than talk about it. Feels like old times... wish me luck.

The only thing as good as that? Jet Grind Radio on your hard drive.

With JGR already coming, that'd literally solidify the most worthy three in my opinion.

Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead, Jet Grind Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Street Fighter III, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Soul Calibur, CODE Veronica and Shenmue will all have been released on XBLA then. That pretty much means all the 'big' titles of the Dreamcast are now represented. Just missing Sonic Adventure 2 really and maybe Phantasy Star Online.

Like we talked yesterday, I'm not much for abandonment but Tira's tools were demolished and for no good reason. Did you try and play her much post patch? Had to be ugly. At least you're liking Viola though.

As for post patch Natsu, I'm making it work. She's still good. If she was A or F tier I was picking her so I can't complain. Learning some new post patch tech traps and mixing it up more in place of CH fishing.

HOV B, WR K, 6A+B PO A:6, 3KKK * WR B, 4A+B, POR 8B+G = Nasties.

BTW played SCII all weekend and almost forgot just how good that game is. SCV holds up in it's own way and I can happily play both side by side without one feeling drastically worse, though SCII is beyond fluid and allows for so much more fast instinctual mix up. Game flows like no other. Give me that damn game on XBL/PSN. Happy to be playing both side by side again, it was something I was worried about doing as the original acclimation is rough, though doing it just fine now.

Looking forward to the Spring/Summer as I'm trying to host a 'retro' tourney for the game in addition to attending some SCV goodness.

that's the spirit!

You have one week. If I don't see more than 5G for SCV on your XBL accnt you will be banned from this thread. ;)

Ita funny because this guy pays to change his tag constantly and does an MSG 2 ALL FRIENDS, constantly. And those spam measages are full of him sending inane pics of himself, his cat or telling everyone he got a new game or toy or posted a new video on youtube or thinks this song is amazing.

I've been away from my xbox for a few months since it broke and came back to check messages and saw 12. Figured it was people asking where I've been maybe. Instead it was 12 spams from him.

Its just kinda crazy. He also buys new clothes for his avatar weekly and changea his bio just as often.

I'm not usually one to judge others too heavily but you gotta admit that's a bit excessive >_>

Playing REmake to remind myself of what made Resident Evil into a household name.

Nice, a bud may be getting me it. If so, I'd play it some with you. I'll play anything.

Been loving SCV so much, really having a great time with it. Competitively, casually, etc. It's just a damn fine fighter.

SFxT? Why would we discuss that travesty in the competitive fighters thread?

Teasing you of course, but that is how I feel about that game. Such a flop and I had such high expectations.

The only thing they have left for me is Biohazard 6, otherwise it's a far different company than the one I grew up with cutting out Capcom Edge points and getting free thermoses.

Definitely my most anticipated title for Vita next to P4G and JSR.

(I'm not a fan of medival/fantasy settings. Almost every MMO out there has overused it to the point where Its so generic and boring to me now).

Not to derail too much, but I understand how you feel. I really don't care for fantasy or this huge rash of fantasy games we've had in the last decade. It took Capcom's name (and demo) to get me to try it.

I think I've kept playing it though because the combat is so much better than any other fantasy game I've played. People who like DMC would love this game, I would think. This game would be fantastic with multiplayer though, yes. Not the MMO kind either, more like a Co-Op sort of multiplayer.

but disc-locked pre-order bonuses? What shite.
Okay, now I get why people dislike disc locked DLC although I don't really agree myself too much. But why does disc locked preorder bonus matter? You already know it was made before the game came out, so how does it matter what method they deliver it by? Just because something is on the disc doesn't mean you would have it for free if they couldn't lock it. They would either just make you download it or not make the content at all.

100% AGREE. This is how the public needs to be thinking.

Still set to be the most in the series by far.

Obviously that means it will be the best in the series.

I thought that was determined by the amount of AK47's a game possesses. Silly you.

I gave it 3 stars, and Jake's demo was my favorite.

The game just seems to be a more action-packed version of 5 (which I think is by far the weakest game in the main series), and the inclusion of what will be a bunch of rail shooter segments in the final version makes it even worse. Doesn't Capcom know that people don't want that shit in Resident Evil?!

The demo was average. Jake's was my favorite because the Ustanak boss fight was somewhat of a challenge at first and more entertaining than anything else in the demo. There's a bit of Nemesis nostalgia there, too, I admit. The beginning of the scenario (up until the two reach the warehouse) was boring to me, though. I want to play a game, not participate in a movie.

Speaking of movies, Leon's demo was a pile of overly-cinematic scripted garbage. Yes, I know it's the beginning of his campaign, and the new demo in the university looks much better. But still, all the cinematic crap just makes replays boring as hell. How anyone at Capcom thought this would be anything like the classic games boggles my mind. It may have the look and feel of those games, but the actual classic gameplay elements (the most important part) are missing. It's all fluff.

Chris's demo is a case of "been there, done that." Yeah, it's better than most of RE5 for sure, but it still doesn't feel like Resident Evil. I get more of a Tom Clancy vibe (Rainbow Six, maybe) from Chris's demo, and that isn't good. You can bet your asses that this will be the most popular scenario amongst dudebros, a demographic that Capcom is obviously marketing most of this game toward.

If I seem overly negative, it's because I just played RE3 and Remake and realized how much better those games are than the more recent installments.

Eventual double dip, 360 primary.
