Ramon Salazar was the eighth castellan of the Salazar family. The castle he governed was built over a dig site that housed Las Plagas. For many generations the Salazar family hid Las Plagas from the world, hoping their power would not be unleased.

Ramon, last of the Salazar line, was influenced by Osmund Saddler to release Las Plagas to atone for the 'sins' of his ancestors. A diminutive man, Salazar injected a Plagas parasite into his body so he could have incredible power.

Leon managed to infiltrate Salazar’s castle during his rescue of Ashley and Salazar was ordered to dispose of him. After several encounters, the two fought atop the highest tower of the castle where, Salazar unleashed the Plagas parasite within him, transforming into a hideous monster, with two massive tentacles and a deformed, grotesque head. He was destroyed by Leon after a fierce battle.
