Rodrigo worked for the Umbrella Security Branch at Umbrella headquarters in Europe. He was the officer who captured Claire Redfield when she infiltrated the building.

Rodrigo traveled with Claire as a captor to Rockfort Island. The T-virus was let out and zombies overran the island, and Rodrigo was injured during the attack. He made his way down to Claire’s cell and decided to let her go so she’d have a fighting chance to survive.

Rodrigo managed to make it fairly far when he bumped into Chris Redfield a while later. Their meeting, however, was interrupted by a giant worm that killed Rodrigo.
