Leon S. Kennedy

Once a young rookie cop, Leon wanted nothing more than to protect and serve his fellow citizens, but his life took an interesting turn on his first day as a cop. On his way into Raccoon City he found a woman laying on the middle of the road, and Leon’s instincts quickly took over as he ran to the woman’s aid. This was no ordinary woman, though; she was a zombie, and soon after Leon was swarmed by a group of zombies, causing him to back away into a nearby alley. In the alley he found Claire Redfield, and the two of them escaped into a squad car and headed for the R.P.D.

After an accident, Leon and Claire were separated, but Leon stayed calm and cool and managed to find his way to the police department. While there he faced even more monsters and quickly discovered he was the last police officer alive.

In the department's parking garage, Leon found a woman named Ada Wong who was looking for a reporter named Ben. Leon figured she was a civilian so he decided to protect her, but after finding Ben Leon realized there was more to Ada than meets the eye.

As the crazy events unfolded, Leon made his way into a sewer system that lead him to a factory of sorts. There he discovered Ada in the middle of an argument with Annette Birkin. Annette shot at Ada but Leon, being the courageous officer he is, jumped in front of Ada and took the bullet in the arm. Ada nursed Leon’s wounds and began to show feelings for him, and the two of them later found a tram that would lead them to an Umbrella base. While on the tram, Ada was wounded by a mutated William Birkin, but Leon saved Ada and took her to an infirmary in the lab. While he nursed her wounds, she spilled her guts to Leon, proclaiming her love for him.

Leon went out to explore the Umbrella base and he encountered Annette Birkin, who told Leon that Ada was actually a spy sent in to take the G-virus sample. Leon did not believe it, but managed to get the sample from Annette when an pipe fell on her head. With the sample secure, Leon tried to find a way to escape but was stopped at gunpoint by Ada, who demanded the sample. Shocked and betrayed, Leon realizes Ada really is a spy, but he knows she still has feelings for him and he knows she won’t shoot him. Right then, Annette shot Ada in the back, and she fell over the railing of a deep chasm. Leon reached out and grabbed her hand. With her life hanging in the balance, Leon used every bit of strength he had left to save the woman he had become so close to, but it was no use; she fell to her death. Overcome with grief, Leon took the G-Virus sample he had and threw it into the chasm so that no one would be harmed by it ever again.

Just then the self-destruct system activated in the base, and Leon had to find a way out. He kept contact with Claire and the two of them rushed to get to a train that would lead them out of the lab. On his way to the train Leon was stopped by the Tyrant that had been chasing him around, and while Leon fought bravely, he had no means of destroying the beast… until a feminine figure threw a rocket launcher his way. Leon destroyed the Tyrant, wondering if he had just seen a ghost of Ada. He then escaped from the lab on the train along with Claire and a girl she'd found named Sherry. Their ordeal was not over, though; a monster that once was William Birkin attacked their train. Leon fought battled the beast and eventually killed it by destroying the entire train.

After Raccoon City was destroyed, a U.S. government agent took Leon into custody. Apparently, Leon joined with the agent in exchange for leaving Sherry left alone. For years Leon trained in the U.S. military, becoming a member of a secret force designed for the missions of the utmost importantce. Six years after the Raccoon City incident the President’s daughter, Ashley Graham, was kidnapped, and it was Leon’s mission to find her and bring her home.

The intelligence Leon gathered led him to a village in Europe where a religious cult called Los Illuminados supposedly held Ashley. Leon discovers that the cult was actually a group of people infected with a parasite called Las Plagas, which forced those infected to do the bidding of their master, Lord Osmund Saddler. Leon was captured by the villagers and infected with a Plagas parasite, as was Ashley. A mysterious man named Luis helped Leon slow the infection, and claimed to know a cure for the virus.

Leon and Ashley escaped the village together and entered a huge castle, where Ashley was again captured by Los Illuminados and taken to an island. Leon, having matured immensely since his days as a rookie police officer, never wavered in the face of unspeakable odds, and after defeating the evil Castellan, Ramon Salazar, traveled to the island in search of Ashley.

Throughout his adventure Leon would often meet up with and receive aid from Ada Wong, who he knew had gone to work for Wesker. Leon was also confronted by Krauser, an old comrade he'd served with in the military, who had also been infected with Las Plagas. At last, Leon found the means to destroy the parasites in his and Ashley's body and confronted Saddler. With Ada's help, Leon was able to destroy Saddler with a rocket launcher, seemingly ending the threat of Las Plagas forever. However, Ada held Leon at gunpoint and demanded he give her the Las Plagas sample Saddler had left behind. Ada flew off with the sample and triggered a timed explosion that would destroy the entire island. Fortunately, she left Leon with keys to a jet ski allowing him and Ashley to escape the island before it blew.

Leon’s mission was a success, having saved the President’s daughter and ultimately the entired world from a Las Plagas outbreak. Yet Leon is still bothered by a piece of his past he could never let go- Ada Wong. Will they ever be on the same side? Will one day they share their true feelings for each other? Only time will tell.
