Brad, a computer expert who excelled at gathering information, earned the nickname “Chicken Heart” because of his fear of danger; he never wanted to be out on the field so they assigned him to pilot the helicopter for the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team.

Brad flew the Alpha Team helicopter on their mission to rescue Bravo Team. After landing the team, he watched as Joseph was eaten alive by a dog, panicked and took off, leaving his teammates behind. Brad hovered around the mansion hoping one of his partners would contact him by radio. Finally, Jill was able to get into contact and Brad informed her of a heliport at the back of the estate.

Low on fuel and awaiting a signal, Brad displayed some bravery by refusing abandon his teammates as long as they were alive. When the flare went up at the heliport he quickly flew in to rescue the survivors. When he discovered that the survivors were battling the Tyrant, Brad quickly realized there was a rocket launcher on board and managed to toss it out of the helicopter. Chris used the rocket launcher to destroy the Tyrant and the once-coward Brad was now the hero as he rescued the surviving members and took them back to Raccoon City.

While back at Raccoon City the survivors told their incredible tale but no one would believe them. Two months later there was the massive outbreak in Raccoon City, and Brad was stuck in the middle of it. Not only was the city becoming a paradise for the undead but an unstoppable killing machine named Nemesis was coming to kill all S.T.A.R.S. members, including Brad. Brad ran and hid at a local bar where he encountered Jill and warned her about Nemesis.

Brad tried to get back into the R.P.D., but Nemesis found him and killed him by injecting the T-virus into his head with a giant tentacle. Brad became another one of the countless zombies roaming Raccoon City, and was found and killed by Leon Kennedy a day later.
